A Warm Welcome to Basingstoke Broadband

Welcome to the Basingstoke Broadband campaign. A location on the web dedicated to the town of Basingstoke in Hampshire, and specifically, the campaign to provide the town and everybody in Basingstoke, a fast and reliable internet connection.

If you suffer from slow connections, connections that drop out, or are even unable to connect to the internet because of the lack of infrastructure within Basingstoke, this is the place to be. Here you will find tips to improve your connection, actions you can take, and most importantly, the reason why Basingstoke has such a major internet problem

There is a lot of news about FTTC fiber optic deployment within Basingstoke, which will provide fast broadband. However, only a small percentage of Basingstoke will be covered. If you currently suffer bad or a slow internet connection, it is likely the situation will improve for you. Find out now!

Within this site, you will find tips for improving your internet connection, actions you can take to help improve the overall infrastructure, a discussion area where you can talk about the Basingstoke Internet issue, and a history of the problem.

This is a new campaign, and a new site (launched on the 1st July 2009). We hope that over the coming weeks and months, the council and our MP will add their voice onto the campaign, as we try and force the infrastructure providers (BT) to improve the situation.

Whilst BT has included (with lots of provisions), Basingstoke for its FTTC fiber deployment plans for 96 towns across the UK, and whilst Basingstoke is included in the January 2010 deployment, large areas of Basingstoke including Hatch Warren, Chineham and Beggarwood

However, more information can be found on the NEWS section, where a map of the planned deployments can be found.
